If you would like to know more about the WP51 date feature and various ways to access the system date from macros, merges, and the edit screen, you'll find this information on our Managing Dates page.
On this page, are five macros which use the date features in some fashion:
Macro Name
Description
Notes
dateform.wpm
This macro presents you with a list of common date formats, all of which can be selected as the default WP51 date format by typing a single keystroke.
The macro is easy to edit, so you can include your favorite or most frequently used formats.
newdate.wpm
This macro allows you to change the date from within WP51. Invoke the macro, give the new date, and press enter. The macro does the rest for you.
If running in Win9x.x, you may notice a very slight lag time between making the change and seeing the effect when you hover your mouse cursor over the time on the task bar.
newtime.wpm
This macro allows you to change the time from within WP51. Invoke the macro, give the new time, and press enter. The macro does the rest for you.
If running in Win9x.x, you may notice a very slight lag time between making the change and seeing it take effect on the task bar.
fsave.wpm
This macro uses a variable of your choosing plus the month and day of the month to name files. January through September are 1 through 9, October is o, November is n, and December is d. Days of the month less than ten are padded with a leading zero. Using this scheme you get files named:
example.101 = file saved 01-Jan
example.312 = file saved 12-Mar
example. o04 = file saved 4-Oct
example.d15 = file saved 15-Dec
"Example," of course, could be any variable of your choosing. For instance, you might use a patient last name, clinic ID, case number, or client name.
It is strongly advised that you customize the macro; otherwise, all your files will be named example! Comments are peppered throughout the file, so you should have no difficulty editing it.
message.wpm
Use this macro to keep a simple, dated message log.
Macro saves each message to a file using the recipient's first name plus the file extension ".msg." If you have a couple of folks named Sam in your office, of course, you'll need a naming scheme like Sam1 and Sam2.
