March 23, 2003

The weather photo from March 23, 2003, shows the dockmaster up at the crack of dawn initiating his mosquito eradication program. Because we have a fleet of felines and grandchildren and because we like our lizards and frogs, the dockmaster has opted not to use any of the traditional mosquitocides available on the market. Instead, after a great deal of cogitation and research and an impressive number of telephone calls with groundskeepers, the dockmaster has settled upon an all-natural garlic-derived mosquito barrier, as well as an environment-friendly larvicide for the ditches. We'd let you know how the barrier works, but we're guessing you'll let us know first! The dockmaster is anxious to hear your thoughts comparing this year's mosquito crop to last year's. Let him know if you think the barrier is working - or not.
